The trend these days is to establish a home theater as the centerpiece of our homes. And the heart of this home theater setup is, undoubtedly, an HDTV widescreen setup. With this monster of a device, we'd be able to watch the movies we have grown to love, over and over again, in their full screen glory. Indeed, widescreen has always been the format of choice for movie producers throughout the years, and for good reasons.
The widescreen format offers a deeper level of immersion for the audience. Being able to occupy the peripherals of the viewer makes the movie viewing experience more memorable. The widescreen format created the illusion that the images leap off the screen to surround the viewer, hence taking the enjoyment of the movie to a higher level of excitement.
Additionally, most movie outfits claim that the widescreen format allows for more images that can be displayed onscreen. Widescreen is not as restrictive as full screen, since most movies are filmed for widescreen projection. To view these movies in a proportionally smaller screen would most certainly miss some of the images that have been captured for the original movie.
And with an HDTV widescreen setup, it is now possible to bring such an experience to the comforts of your own home.
There are many HD-ready television sets that you could choose from, each of which comes with a widescreen option. In fact, most of the newer models have widescreen monitors by default.
Your HDTV widescreen setup would have to play media from a variety of sources. Television receptions from analog antennas and cable are more or less preset. You will only receive what the service would send out. Satellite services providing HD-ready transmission, on the other hand, would give you the option to choose how to display the reception. You could opt to view the programs through full screen mode, or through widescreen, if the latter is available. Most DVDs these days are available in these two types, as well. Simply check the packaging to ensure that you'll be purchasing the widescreen version, if this is what you desire.
If you have to buy a high television TV, might as well make sure that you'll commit yourself to an HDTV widescreen setup. There are no ifs and buts about it. It's the only way to go if you wish to simulate a movie theater in your living room.
